Introducing the new MacBook Air.

Light as a feather, and better than ever.

The new MacBook Air is less than one inch thin. The flash storage hard drive creates more room for a larger battery, which means 5 hours on an 11 inch and 7 hours on a 13 inch model. After the MacBook Air has been asleep for 1 hour it enters standby mode. You can wake it one day, week, or month later instantly.

Good things come in small packages.

The new MacBook Air features a unibody design for both the main enclosure and display, which makes for a simpler more durable design. What about the internal components? One single chip integrates a faster processor, incredible graphics, and a memory controller for a serious computing experience. The new Intel HD Graphics 4000 offers up to 60% faster graphics. If 4GB of RAM is not enough, you can easily customize your new Macbook Air to 8GB.

Get connected with USB 3 and Thunderbolt.

Turn your super-portable MacBook Air into the ultimate workstation. Connect to the latest displays and back-up solutions using Thunderbolt technology and USB 3. Your time is precious, so live life in the fast lane. Get VIP access to a data transfer channel 10 times faster than USB 2.

Recap: World Wide Developers Conference New Laptops.

Miss the WWDC Keynote Presentation this afternoon? Have no fear, Springboard Media is here to recap the fun. Siri, the Master of Ceremonies, opened the presentation by announcing Tim Cook who informed us The App store now has over 400 million accounts, 650,000 different apps, and has now reached 30 billion downloads.

The much awaited Macbook Air and Pro upgrades were definitely the most exciting announcements made by Phil Schiller. The Macbook Air will now have up to 512GB of flash storage, 60% faster graphics, and up to 8GB of memory. Processing speeds will now be 1600Mhz with up to 2.0GhZ i7 processors. They are now incorporating the third generation Ivy Bridge CPU as well with USB 3.0! But wait theres more… Looks like there will also be a $100 price drop for all Macbook Airs.

From the looks of it, the updates on the Macbook Air will be very similar on the Macbook Pro with a third generation Ivy Bridge CPU up to 2.7Ghz, 8GB 1600Mhz memory, and 60% faster graphics integrated. Both ports will also be USB 3.0 and the discrete GPU is now the GeForce GT 650M with 1GB. Another major change? Apple is saying good-bye to the 17 inch Macbook Pro.

Everyone was thrilled to hear about the new laptop line. Schiller referred to it as “The most beautiful computer we’ve ever made.” The upgraded retina display has been confirmed! This machine will also be the lightest pro notebook ever made at 4.46 pounds. It will be a quarter thinner at 0.71 inches, about as thin as the Macbook Air. The machine will be 15.4” across with a pixel density of 2880x1800. Other features discussed were the Thunderbolt camera, external Thunderbolt drive, MagSafe 2, two Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, USB3/2, up to 7 hours of battery, 30 days of standby, flash storage (768GB max), up to 16GB of RAM and next-gen Kepler graphic. The official name? Macbook Pro with Retina Display.
